| Purpose of DEBATE
Articles in Debate aim to inform and educate readers on:
• Ideas, discussion and major arguments in support of and opposed to key legislative policy and Government issues and public debates.
• Focus on exposing, comparing and critically analysing public policy issues or party policy positions.
• Scholarship that explores and compares an ethical approach with other world views to these issues.
With the intent to:
• Highlight the philosophical underpinnings of the legislation or policy, to expose, critically analyse and compare issues in relation to Australian Christian ethical values and other world views in a balanced, broad,
fair-minded way.
• Preempt, influence and steer mainstream public debate and discourse with accurate, balanced and fair-minded articles providing high level critical analysis and clear recommendations for legislation and policy.
• Be a resource for Parliamentarians in seeking to:
a) Explore the ethical approach to the legislative and policy issue.
b) Understand how the Christian ethical approach may compare to other philosophical approaches to the issue.
Target Audience
Debate is targeted at the Australian public, legislators, administrators, academics interested in public policy and other key policy makers at all levels of Government, educational institutions
and within the bureaucracy. |
