Euthanasia YES - Dr Philip Nitschke. Some of the reasons why voluntary euthanasia remains a political hot potato are examined in this article. After 12 years of being involved in voluntary euthanasia, I have my own ideas of what lies behind the political stalemate we face. While organised religion is far from solely to blame, the role of the Church in ensuring a law never succeeds and that seriously ill people never have end-of-life choices cannot be ignored. Our organisation Exit International has witnessed the growth in demand for such knowledge about voluntary euthanasia and continues to serve their needs.
